enVision Mathematics Kindergarten, Topic 11: Count to 100
In this unit, your child counts all the way to 100, by ones and by tens, and learns to start counting from any number, like picking up at 37 instead of going back to 1. Seeing the pattern of tens builds directly on the ten-and-some-more work with teen numbers. After this big counting stretch, the next unit switches to shapes and how to describe them.

Question 1 of 3
What comes next? 10, 20, 30, 40, __
- 60
- 50
- 41
How you can help
- Clap on every number while counting to 100 by ones, and stomp each time you reach a number ending in zero, such as 10, 20, and 30.
- Start a count at any number during a walk or ride, such as 46, and let your child keep it going for ten more numbers.
- Take turns counting to 100 at bedtime, with each of you saying a group of ten, so your child crosses tricky spots like 59 to 60.
Where kids can get stuck
- Going back to 1 to find the next number, even after counting '45, 46, 47' correctly.
- Counting by tens past 90 to 'ten-ty,' not yet knowing that 100 comes next.
- Mixing up number words that sound alike, saying fifteen for fifty while counting by tens.
Practice makes perfect
Bobby's Math Club has practice problems that adapt to your child’s level, each with a detailed explanation and an easy-to-follow video, so your child can build confidence in these skills one step at a time.
