Reveal Math Grade 1, Unit 7: Count and Compare to 120
In this unit, your child counts all the way to 120, starting from any number, and reads and writes those numbers. They compare two-digit numbers using greater than, less than, and equal to. This follows the subtracting within 20 unit and leads into a closer look at tens and ones.

Question 1 of 3
Count by tens: 10, 20, 30, 40, __. What number comes next?
- 51
- 50
- 60
How you can help
- Count jumping jacks starting from a random number, like 88, and keep going past 100. Slow down at the new tens.
- Compare the last page numbers of two picture books at bedtime. Ask which book has more pages and how your child can tell.
- Play a guessing game: "I am thinking of a number greater than 50 and less than 60." Take turns asking yes or no questions.
Where kids can get stuck
- Counting 100, 200, 300 after 100, instead of 101, 102, 103.
- Writing one hundred five as 1005, putting 100 and 5 side by side.
- Pointing the greater than symbol the wrong way, writing 74 < 47.
