Who we text, and why

Bobby's Math Club is a math practice app for young children. Parents manage their child's account. We text only parents who have switched texts on themselves, and only about their own child's practice: a short note after a practice session, and a reminder when practice has stopped for a few days. We never send marketing texts, and we never text children.

How a parent opts in

1. The parent signs in to their Bobby's Math Club account and opens Settings.
2. Under Notifications, they switch SMS Reminders on. It is off for every new account.
3. They enter their own mobile number, read the consent statement shown under it, and tap Save.

Texts are optional: every part of the app works with them off. Nothing is switched on or ticked for the parent. This is what the parent sees:

What the texts say

Right after a parent switches texts on, they get one text confirming it. After that, message frequency varies: at most one practice note a day for each child, and one reminder a week. Examples:
