What you'll get

  • We'll estimate your child's current level in Numbers & Place Value, Problem Solving, Measurement & Data, and Geometry.
  • We'll also recommend free, evidence-based resources to help your child grow in each area.
  • If you create a free account, we'll give you a detailed, skill-by-skill breakdown and an action plan for building your child's skills and confidence.

Tips for accurate assessment

1. Find a quiet 10 minutes

Sit with your child at a phone, tablet, or computer. Tap the speaker and each question is read aloud. For Pre-K to 2nd grade, it reads them on its own.

2. Let them do the math

Please don't help with the math just yet. This shows what they can do on their own, and that's what makes the plan fit.

3. “I don't know yet” is a great answer

The questions start easy and get harder. If a question is new, “I don't know yet” (or “Not sure” on paper) tells us more than a guess.

Questions parents ask

Is this a test?

No. Nothing goes to school, and there's no grade. It's a quick look at where your child is, so you know what to practice.

Which grade should I pick?

The grade your child is in now. Over the summer, pick the grade they just finished.

What do you keep?

We ask for your child's first name and grade, and your email so we can send you resources based on the results. Your child's individual answers stay on your device unless you join. If you scan a paper assessment, we keep the photos for 30 days in case a reading needs a second look, then delete them. If you don't join, we delete your child's name and results after 90 days. How is this different from joining?

The diagnostic is a first look. In the club, your child practices at their level in every area, and you get a short note after each session. Unlimited practice is free. If you join right after the diagnostic, your child's levels start from it. Learn more about how it works →
