Kids love a win, but a reward handed out for everything stops meaning anything. Our badges are earned for things worth cheering, and paced so there's always another one to look forward to.
A celebration the moment they earn one
When your child earns a badge, it appears right then with a celebration, and the name is read aloud. They tap "Keep going" and carry on. At the end of the session it's shown again, so nobody misses it.
Most sessions end with one new badge, so there's always another to look forward to.
Badges worth going for
- Skill badges. A fun-named badge for each area of math, earned when your child masters an area of math. They're never taken away.
- Day-of-the-week badges. Practice on a Monday, a Tuesday, and so on, and climb from Bronze all the way up to Rainbow.
- Weekly Stars. A star for a week of regular practice. A week without one costs nothing.
- Secret badges. Surprises your child finds by doing something, like practicing before breakfast. The celebration says why they got it.
- Family badges. A gift from you: for taking the parent quiz, adding the app to your home screen, or bringing a friend.
Your child has a badge page of their own in the app. Tap a badge and it says its name out loud, which works well for kids who can't read yet.
Proof of their progress, for you
- A certificate to print. Open your child's badges on your dashboard and print one for the fridge, for any badge earned by practicing.
- A line in your email. Your practice summary mentions the badges your child earned.
